Can’t find just the right organization or cause to volunteer with and help make a difference? Create your own!

With the help of other parents and teachers, Whitney started KidsCorps at Olive Chapel Elementary. KidsCorps is a service club for 4th & 5th Graders who are interested  in serving others through servant leadership by fulfilling three goals: 1) D evelop servant leaders by identifying students’ gifts and talents and how they can be used to serve others, 2) Create an awareness of the needs of others locally, nationally, and internationally, and 3) Partner with local, national, and international agencies to provide service opportunities to those in need.

Examples of KidsCorps’ projects: Food 4 Kids provides a backpack full of food for the weekend for Olive Chapel’s students who struggle with food-insecurity, annual Special Olympics for Olive Chapel’s students, made Blanket Buddies for SAFEChild through CAPA (Citizens Assisting Police in Apex), adopted a school in Wilmington, NC for hurricane relief, made cards for seniors during holidays & held a fundraiser to honor an Olive Chapel student battling cancer which donated Radio Flyer Red Wagons filled with toys and gifts to Duke Children’s Hospital!
