How Does It Work

Our FREE 12-Week Challenge is a plan to help you lose weight by creating healthy habits in a fun and EASY way! While you create new habits, we use compassion and community to keep you motivated, long enough, for your new habits to stick!

12-Week Challenge In Four Easy Steps

Use the Interrupt Hunger 12-Week Challenge to get your head and heart working together to lose weight and help feed your hungry neighbors.

1.

Start A Group

Start by creating your team for the 12-Week Challenge. Bring the 12-Week Challenge to the places you live, work and pray.

1. Select a team leader(s)

2. Decide on a start date for your 12-Week Challenge

3. Hold an intro meeting 2-3 weeks before your 12-Week Challenge begins

4. Sign your team up by selecting a local food bank or food pantry.

Team Exercise

Meet once a week to exercise as a group (Ex: walk/jog for 30 min at a local park)

Download your MOVE EAT GIVE Worksheet to create an exercise plan that you enjoy and that fits your busy schedule. Start by filling in your team’s weekly group exercise, then find four more days/time for YOU.

3.

Donate Your time

Invite a local food bank, food pantry or soup kitchen to your intro-meeting to speak about Hunger (Food Insecurity) in your community and volunteer opportunities for your team.

Schedule a team volunteer project once a month at your local food bank, food pantry or soup kitchen during your 12-Week Challenge. Volunteering is a fun way to give back and provides a much-needed boost to your motivation while developing new healthy habits!

Donate Your Weight

Donate Your Weight once a month to celebrate your weight loss victories! Donate at least $1.00 for every pound you lose to help feed your hungry neighbors. 100% of proceeds benefit a food bank or food pantry  in your area.

How to Support Your Food Bank Of Choice

Click the link below to select a Feeding America Food Bank in your area. After you have found your food bank click “Sign Up Team”. You will be redirected to a donation page spotlighting your food bank. Next, click “Start or Join Team” to start your team, join a team or make a Donate Your Weight donation. Once your team is created, you can see the list of members as they join as well as a Leaderboard of other teams competing in a 12-Week Challenge for your food bank. If you would rather complete the 12-Week Challenge on your own, simply click “Single Donation” to make a Donate Your Weight donation without needing to join a team!
